LFMAC at NAGA
Eric Stafford made his BJJ-competition debut in the White Belt Masters (30-39) Middleweight division. It was an exciting, high-scoring match. Eric went the distance, but lost on points.
NAGA was April Booth's second competition. She entered the Women's White Belt Masters Middleweight division. Having only three in that division, she was also allowed to roll with the 20-year-olds in the Women's White Belt Middleweight division. She had a total of three matches, went the distance in all three, but lost on points.
Rodney Stiffler rolled in both the No-gi and White Belt Executive (50+) divisions. Stiffler went 3-0 (tapping out two opponents) to claim First Place in both divisions. Now that Stiffler won Gold, he'll be "Ranked" in NAGA - next year he'll need to roll with the Blue Belts! Stiffler now has an overall BJJ competition record of 4 wins, 3 losses.
Matt Pape making his grappling-competition debut; competed in both the No-gi Beginner Flyweight division and the White Belt Flyweight division. Though competing for his first time, Matt chose not to roll in the Novice division, but opted to move up to the Beginner's division in No-Gi. It was a large, 16-competitor division. Matt went 3-1 to win Second Place. He executed his game-plan perfectly; pulling guard and using the sitting-roll-over sweep, and dominated from the mounted position. Nothing fancy, just solid jiu-jitsu positioning. His gi-division was similar with 8 competitors. Matt went 2-1 to win Silver.
